Meeting in the Park

Steve and I got coffee and had a meeting in the park Friday to discuss production. We decided we want to try to shoot episodes one and two, which I’m excited about because I think episode two is funnier than one.

We discussed budget and decided we just want to spend as little money as possible. Food for our cast and crew will probably (hopefully) be our biggest expense.

Our biggest challenge right now is finding locations. We need a stage, a house, a church… Let’s hope we can find these on the cheap!

We also discussed the possibility of hiring a good makeup person to put a younger person in old makeup for the part of Barry, a spry 90-something who likes to come on to the ladies. The benefit here would be having a talented comedian play the role; the drawback, of course, is cost. We’ll have to see how that one plays out.

We also broke down the script in terms of props and costumes

This week we’ll probably be posting the breakdowns. Yay!

In Production!
Posted on June 6th, 2008 @ 2:28 pm

Steve and I have come up with a production schedule, and we’re on track for filming episode one.

We split episode one into two episodes, so they will be shorter and more palatable for internet viewers. Now, each episode is about 3 pages long.

We have a character list, a location list, a projected date for auditions, and a projected date to start shooting.

Our main challenges as we see them are:

-Finding an old woman actress who has great comedic skill and looks like she’s about 90 years old.

-Finding a run-down looking house with a brown, unattractive landscape.

-Finding a school auditorium or cafeteria stage.

If anyone has hot leads on any of these things, let me know. :)
